Service Oriented Architecture enables the separation of concerns or “de-coupling” of business functionality from individual, stove-piped applications into business-aligned functional areas. This allows for a decrease in the amount of time required to deliver functionality from months to weeks. IronTEK’s approach to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is more than just exposing a given business logic or rule as a web service. We adapt a hybrid approach to reuse existing functionality guided by the priorities of current business needs. Using our proven methodology, we identify service gaps, redundancies, and priorities to bridge the gap between supply (IT services) and demand (Business needs) with a service-oriented interface. This approach results in a comprehensive architecture and transition strategy to a Service Oriented Enterprise (SOE) that enables reuse and standardization across an organization.
